October 25th was #GlobalMakerDay. It was a day where all over the world, students of all ages were making in their classrooms. At Fairview, all students participated in a cardboard challenge on Global Maker Day. Cardboard creations were built by all students. 

Kindergarten students created monsters out of playdough and then built cardboard houses of their monsters. 

First graders connected the cardboard challenge to their social studies unit about the community we live in. Students constructed models of different places within their communities. 

   

Some second graders made rocketships to connect to their study of space. 

Others got in the Halloween spirit and made spooky masks!

Third graders made a plethora of  cardboard creations from life size robots, to bridges to games and toys!

Fourth graders connected the cardboard challenge to their study of habitats. 

  

Fifth graders constructed arcade games after being influences by Caine's Arcade.
